a spiritual holiday: finding peace in dead poets

Mon Sep 21, 2009, 7:53 PM
for those of you who don't know me, i, apparently, quote Dead Poets Society quite frequently.

my life had taken a few turns for the worst around November of last year and i got lost in the tumult. but that matters not.

i hope to start posting again. my life hasn't settled down quite so much as to provide time to color my sketches, but i'll post them in my scraps and color them later.

in other news, i saw the highly acclaimed movie BRIGHT STAR on Sunday. (Bright Star is a movie about the great poet John Keats and his unsatisfyingly short engagement with his love Fanny Brawne. to inform those who need informing, John Keats died at the age of 25 of TB, two years after he fell in love with Fanny and one year after their engagement. an extremely melancholy story.) It was immensly sad! but so so soooo good. of course, i'm biased in my fanship of the great Ben Whishaw, who performed masterfully as the respectable poet.

a tip for anyone who lives in Texas, the only place it's showing in Dallas is The Magnolia in the down town. but it's absolutely worth it. Jane Campion (the director) has something very powerful in her hands.

anyhow, after waiting over a year for its release I did a little studying of Keats himself and found many of his poetical and philosophical concepts very liberating in my current mood. i won't go so far to say that his words saved me, but they definately played a big role in the outcome of my dilema, my soul's little gallivant.

be assured, those who really need assurance, i have not changed. i'm just a little more at ease with myself.

i'm so drunk with my own emotions..hahah..i will look back on this journal and slap myself for its idiocy and impulsive resurection. please forgive me, i get swept away with heart's escapades and vast range of feelings and realizations. it's just who i am =).

i have been criticized for it, but how can be anything but what i am truly. inside.

sort of rusty,
the kid.
